Terms of service

Last updated 9 August 2026

By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

The service

SwitchLab provides hosted ISO 8583 simulator sandboxes, message tooling and conformance batteries, operated by Sasindu Pathiranage, an independent developer in Sri Lanka (see about). It is a development and testing tool. It is not a payment processor, does not move money, and is not connected to any live payment network.

What a passing run means

SwitchLab is not a certification authority and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank, card scheme or switch operator. A passing conformance run is a rehearsal result produced by our own reference host against your switch. It is evidence that you are prepared; it confers no certification, approval or accreditation of any kind, and no operator is obliged to accept it. Each conformance pack states where its cases came from and what it does not verify — read that before relying on a green result.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SwitchLab to:

  • send real cardholder data, live PANs, or any production payment credentials;
  • direct traffic at, probe, or interfere with any host you are not authorised to test;
  • host, mirror or link to content that is unlawful, deceptive, or impersonates another party;
  • circumvent plan limits, resell sandbox capacity, or run load tests against third parties;
  • attempt to gain access to another tenant’s data or to the underlying infrastructure.

Sandboxes are yours to point wherever you are entitled to. Outbound testing at a host you do not own or have written permission to test is your responsibility, not ours, and is grounds for termination.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys secret, and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@switchlabs.cloud if you think an account or key has been compromised.

Plans and billing

The free tier requires no payment details. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until cancelled; cancel any time and the plan runs to the end of the paid period. Plan limits (sandboxes, monthly message volume) are enforced by the service.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a small, self-funded product: there is no uptime guarantee, and maintenance or outages can happen. Do not place SwitchLab on a critical path where its unavailability would harm you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim arising out of use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the three months before the claim — and, on the free tier, to nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including a failed or delayed certification session.

Termination and changes

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practical. Material changes to these terms will be announced by email to account holders, and the date at the top of this page will change.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
