About SwitchLab

SwitchLab is a testing tool for engineers who build payment switches. It stands in for the other side of an ISO 8583 link: you point your switch at a sandbox, and SwitchLab answers as an issuer host — or fires transactions at you as an acquirer — so you can develop and rehearse without waiting on someone else’s test environment.

It runs conformance batteries against your switch, lets you script response codes and failure modes, and shows every message decoded field by field as it happens.

SwitchLab is not a certification authority, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank, card scheme or switch operator. Nobody gets certified here. Official certification is granted solely by the relevant operator — a passing SwitchLab run means you are rehearsed and ready for that session, nothing more.

It is also not a place to put real cardholder data. Every sandbox is a simulator; use test PANs. See the terms.

SwitchLab is built and operated by Sasindu Pathiranage, an independent software developer based in Sri Lanka. It is a small, self-funded product — there is no company behind it pretending to be bigger than it is, and you are emailing the person who writes the code.
